Our Wedding Photography Process

Nicole + Joe

Why It Feels So Effortless on the Day-Of – Our wedding photography process starts long before we ever show up on your wedding day. The day before a wedding? We’re not just charging batteries and double-checking gear (though yes, everything’s fully charged and packed in the car). We’re going over your timeline, reviewing your family shot list, re-reading your questionnaire, and prepping for the emotional, candid, blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moments that matter most to you.

Because the truth is, this job isn’t just about snapping pretty pictures. It’s about seeing you—knowing your priorities, understanding your people, and making sure your wedding day feels effortless and supported.

And that kind of experience? It doesn’t happen by accident.

The Process Starts Long Before Wedding Week

Our wedding photography process is built to serve you from the minute you book. We’re not the photographers who disappear until the week-of. From day one, you get a clear outline of what to expect and when. We’ve crafted a structure that keeps you informed and confident—without ever feeling overwhelmed.

We send check-ins at 6 months, 3 months, 1 month, and 1 week before your wedding. Each one includes exactly what you need to be thinking about at that time; whether it’s your family photo list, your final timeline, or your wedding day questionnaire. That way, there are no last-minute surprises, no missed details, and no guessing what’s next.

We’re also here to help the whole way through. Need a second opinion on hair and makeup timing? Struggling with where to sneak in a first look? Wondering what works best for portraits in winter light? We’ve been to a lot of weddings, and we’re happy to share what works and what doesn’t.

The Week of Your Wedding: Our Deep Dive

This is when the behind-the-scenes work kicks into high gear. We use everything you’ve shared with us to map out how your wedding day will flow. Our prep isn’t just about where we need to be, it’s about how we want the day to feel for you.

Here’s what we’re looking at that week:

  • Ceremony and reception locations, and travel time between them
  • Your family and group photo lists
  • Any heirlooms or sentimental items you want captured
  • Cultural or personal traditions we need to prioritize
  • Your “who matters most” answers from the questionnaire
  • The lighting at each location and how it might shift

We build a mental roadmap of the day. We talk through our game plan together as a team. We prep for every emotional cue, lighting scenario, and possible timeline hiccup. This kind of prep work means we show up ready to pivot when needed—but also ready to slow down and capture the calm, quiet, in-between moments that often mean the most.

Day-Of: Calm, Focused, Ready to Flow

When we walk into your getting ready space, we’re already fully in sync. You won’t see us fumbling with gear or asking what time the ceremony starts. We’ve already done the homework.

If your partner’s tie won’t stay put, we’re fixing it. If family photos go long, we’re quietly adjusting and keeping things moving. If your best friend’s dress rips, we’re grabbing the sewing kit from our emergency stash. (Yes, we carry one. Always.)

That’s the benefit of having a wedding photography process that’s actually built with care, it frees you up to not worry about a thing.

Why Our Wedding Photography Process Is So Intentional

Everything we do is for one big reason: so you can be present on your wedding day.

You shouldn’t be tracking down a cousin for portraits or wondering if we remembered to photograph your grandmother’s bracelet. You shouldn’t even be thinking about your timeline. That’s our job, and we’ve already planned ahead for it.

Our wedding photography process gives us the space to truly see you. It gives you the freedom to be in the moment without micromanaging it. And when you get your gallery back, you’ll notice it. The quiet tears. The way your dad looked at you before walking down the aisle. The forehead kiss you didn’t even know happened during speeches.

That’s the magic of real preparation, it lets the real moments shine. Inquire Today!!
